The 2016 Production Schedule

This Schedule will show the Projection and the Progress of Projects.

Bark River Knives - Blackjack Knives - Scagel Knives - Northwoods Knives - Ambush Knives - American Knife Company

and other Brands

There are other knives that we make that are not on this schedule

Remember that I will be Constantly adding to this and changing the order of things all year long.

None of this is ever Carved in Stone until the Project is Delivered.

Index:

Delivered The run is over and shipped to the Distributors

Delivering The run has started to ship and will continue to ship until 100% shipped to the Distributors

In Assembly The blades are totally ready for starting to build the run

In Blade Grinding The Blades are having the Rough Initial Grind put in them

In Surface Grinding The Blades are being uniformly surfaced so that they are flat and have all of the heat treat slag removed from them

In Heat Treat The Blades are in the process of being heated - Quenched - Cryo Treated - Triple Tempered - Straightened and then Shank Drawn to soften the tangs

In Water Jet Cutting The Steel is Delivered and the job is in line for Cutting and then Drilling out the Holes.

PRE-ORDERS

It is common for folks to want to Pre-Order a Specific Knife in a Specific Handle

All Pre-Orders on each Model must be submitted to your dealer before you see the knife go to Surface Grind

We cut all the handle material for that specific model at that time and have a very difficult time adding anything to that cut once we have all the material together

It is vital that all Pre-Orders get into your dealer as soon as possible on all models

As most of you know - None of this is carved in Stone and I will be adding models as we plan forward for the year.

FOLDERS:

Yes -this year we will be finally doing some folders. We already have three or four into CAD and even have 3-D models on most of them. By February we will have added another 5300 Sq. Ft. to the plant which will give us the room to do the folders.

I will announce each one as we are getting ready to actually produce the sample run of each and then followed by the production run of each.

Bravo LT in elmax? Wow! Mike, what about the 1.25 in LT version? How many orders does it needs to be able to produce that?

Lets do this one step at a time.

I'm making the B-1LT First. Lets see how many people have no idea what they have in their hand and ruin one.

I just like the the extra inch of cutting blade. I don't do any baton so a thin blade will suite me better. When ever it comes out I can wait.

Wow, that is thinner than the Liten Bror at .156.

This will make a great knife!

I hope the Boundary Rider Bowie is still in the works some time this year ?? Cause you know this might be the year of the Bowie by looking at the 2016 schedule.

Mike, can you tip your hand on the mini bush seax, and possibly pics/renderings for the seax trio for comparison?

I'm curious why the CPM 4V isn't being used? Is it not readily available? I got one of the Gamekeepers in 4V this Fall and am impressed with how well it holds an edge.

If distributors think these are worthwhile, I'd like to see the following considered for 2016 production (in order of preference):

Kalahari Hunter CPM S35VN
Golok (Drop Point) CPM 4V
Camp & Trail CPM S35VN

Thanks

I don't have that here at home but i think Jason has the Specs Listed on his website in the pre-order section.

I'll get you a pic of the 3-D model but I can't really get that until Monday.

As the Kalahari Series becomes more popular I'm sure we will expand the steel choices.

The Golok will eventually also be offered in one of the CPM Steels - I don't know which one but it will be either 3V - 4V - Z-Wear or PD-1.

Remember it will very noticeably effect the retail price. These Steels are 6 times the price per pound of A-2.

I love the Camp & Trail. Unfortunately is has not received much notice. At this point it would be a VERY hard task to convince the Dealers to accept them in another steel and a higher price.

I also wanted to mention that we are having a very very very difficult time getting enough of the Crucible steels.

It will be back but the boundary rider is my Grail bowie knife and I still am not 100% sure of how I want to proceed with it. In the mean time we have a great selection of other bowie knives coming out.

Thanks Mike, that’s great news. I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet, but the Kalahari Hunter blade and handle shape seems like an excellent multi-purpose hunting/skinning knife. I look forward to a S35VN version at some point in the future. What a perfect companion to the Kalahari Sportsmen, especially in damp coastal environments like southeast Alaska. I’ve got a Wolf River and Bravo 1 in this steel and have been very impressed with edge holding and relative ease of sharpening.

And the Kalahari II looks like a great camp or even survival-type knife. That would be an impressive blade in 3V or 4V, but I know that’s not likely unless the A2 versions sell well. I don’t know about others on this forum, but I’ve got so many A2 knives that I’m really only buying blades with the more advanced steels these days (S35VN, 3V, 4V). Its unfortunate the availability is such a problem, because I don’t mind paying a little more for the higher quality steels.

Again, thanks for all you do and for the way you interact with us customers. There’s another thing I’ve got to ask though… When you make those videos, do you have to hold back a laugh when you say, “…and this one’s in black canvas Micarta, because it’s mine!”. After watching dozens of these videos, it makes me laugh every time!
